Are you in a Lightning desert? Or do you see us all around you?

I live in a small town that acts as a business and retail center for a larger rural area that includes a few villages/smaller towns. With only a few thousand residents in the town, I expected to be the lone electric pickup in the area. But nope! I am now aware of at least 5 of us in the local community. Kick in a couple of Rivians and probably soon a few Cybertrucks and we have a healthy community of electric high-riders. What is it like where you live?

Also, if you see a Lightning come along, do you acknowledge it? A light flick? A subtle wave? Or do you rip along with nary a nod?

Still see very few in Austin, haven't seen another while out in mine (bought it July 31). Of course, my truck has been waiting in for battery modules for 3 weeks and I ended up behind one identical to mine the other day while driving the crappy loaner ecoboost. I see Rivians all day, still no cybertruck sighting in Austin, saw one out of town one day a few weeks ago.

In north county San Diego I see a few everyday. But nothing compared to how many Rivians are around. I see at least a dozen of those trucks and suvs everywhere I go. And Teslas are every other car so I imagine the cybers will be a daily sight soon.

We see Mach-Es everywhere, including 2 red ones like ours just yesterday. I think I've seen less than 5 Lightnings total.

Not many, maybe 2 Pro, and 3 XLT and up trim on the road. The lights and light bar are how I normally spot so not always able to see tailgate. My Mach-e was easier to spot,I do like the truck and blending in aspect, except for those who know EV then it gets attention.

San Diego/Riverside/Moreno Valley California I have seen maybe 15 Lightnings in 15 months.
I only set out on the weekends and only to Los Angeles, Orange County or San Diego.
Longest Trip was 240 miles twice to Vegas.

I live in a rural area (Zoned 25 acre minimum) and there are half a dozen Lightnings within half a mile of me. I've seen no hummers, but about 4-5 R1Ts in the area as well. The Rivian folks are much more eager to engage, flash, wave.

But Lightnings are what I see the most of. I've been seeing them more than not and most owners don't seem interested in a conversation, which I'm ok with.

I didn't want to talk to any of you out there either...

More lately. Parked near a Platinum cousin of my Lariat at the gym yesterday. Read somewhere that VT has one of the highest per capita EV adoption rates.

The Lightnings out in the suburbs of Austin seem to have multiplied over night. I don't even drive much but there have been days recently where I've seen 2-3 Lightnings in a short trip in and around Cedar Park. I saw three on Monday just going to grab a Mighty Fine burger and thought that was crazy then went to HEB and another was parked there! Most have temporary tags on them so pretty sure all of those record Lightnings sold in November were purchased here.

I miss being one of the only ones on the road :(

I'm in a very dense Lightning area, considering I work next to the assembly plant. But on the road? I don't see many on the road that are sold to consumers.

I have seen more management lease Lightnings lately, but I think there is only one other hourly employee at DTP that has one besides at me.

I've seen a small hand full. Someone has the same Red Lariat as I do and parks in the same lot at work but I haven't managed to run into them yet. I've also seen a white one (I think it was a Lariat as well) in the northern part of town.

When I visited the in-laws in west El Paso, saw 2 over the course of a weekend. I've taught the kids how to spot a Lightning and have them on the look out ;)

I've seen 3 or 4 routinely in the neighboring towns, expect to see more & more being we are in a mid-way suburb of Providence & Boston.

I wonder if the Lightning Platinum drivers will be like BMW's motorcycle riders, they never wave back at the rest of us lowly other ~motorcyclists~ or me in my Lariat...... LOL

Since I got mine a month ago, the only others I've seen was 1 charging in a Target parking lot, and another in our electric light parade. Prior to that I had been seeing a red one periodically that must have either lived or worked near my house, but I haven't seen them lately. Seen a couple White ones (One pro, one plat) in various parking lots nearby, but all in all just a bunch of one-off run-ins. Phoenix isn't small, I would think they'd be somewhat common by now. I've also spotted a handful of R1Ts, but it seems like the most common electric big-boys around here are R1Ss, I've seen dozens of them, more common than model Xs

I just saw a Lightning in a movie. It's definitely the first time I've seen it in a movie or tv show. The movie was "Family Switch" starring Jennifer Garner and Ed Helms. It was a blink and you'll miss it kind of thing.
