IMO @Ford Motor Company needs to step up and take a national initiative of owners affected. From this thread, people's experiences range from a few days to over a month, no loaner to an ICE Escape (like me), or a Mach-E or Lightning. It's a damn mess and they have to know it's a widespread issue.
There is literally nothing Ford Motor Company can do in that regard, it all falls on the dealer. They can dictate that the dealer has to do something a certain way or provide a loaner, and the dealer does not have to abide by it due to franchise laws. It's the same reason the dealers were able to push back against model e dealer requirements

It really up to you the customer. You must investigate the dealers nearby. It certainly might not be the one you bought from that will do you the best service. Polls have revealed that most Ford dealers agree that the Fed's are moving too fast with EV's,. Many dealers have refused to follow Ford's EV plans.

FYI: I had this error twice (Nov and Dec 2023) on my 2023 lariat, Jan 23 build. didn't experience any issues except the error appearing on my screen. My dealer inspected it and said it need a gear shift module. It's February 8th and FMC still doesn't have the part. However I have not seen the error message since. Love my Lightning.

Iā€™m at the dealer to pick up the Lightning. I dropped off last Monday so 10 business days to get the truck done*. They test drove it but didnā€™t try to charge it to ensure it didnā€™t have a charge fault (which was happening at 65% before i dropped it off). Now iā€™m sitting here while the truck charges to validate the issue isnā€™t still there. Iā€™m not thrilled that they didnā€™t validate that the battery could take full charge after doing major service on the HVB. Itā€™s up to 67% but iā€™m going to hang around a bit longer to make sure nothing crops up. The charger here is only charging at 4kW so itā€™s slow going.

I sure hope everything is good. The Mach-E was fine as a loaner but i really missed the truck. This ordeal was a big hit on my confidence in the truck but i couldnā€™t really imagine buying something else right now. The only thing thatā€™s marginally appealing is the R1T or R1S but i still wouldnā€™t swap today if given the choice.

I let the truck get to 70% at the dealer before taking it. I had to go to the mall (with EA station) from the dealership so I stopped at the EA station to give it a charging torture test and get the SOC up. Of course the station was full when I got there (two Lightnings there! A first!). I went in the store and when I got out there were some open stalls. I plugged into 2 different stations and both of them had failed cable cooling and quickly de-rated. Thanks EA. The brand new stations are working greeeeaaaat. :rolleyes:

I wouldnā€™t have worried about it.

Well, i had it happen two different times at 65% after draining down to under 60%. That was all the info i had available. I agree itā€™s not likely to be a consistent problem but since they didnā€™t even try to charge it i wanted to make sure things were at least, marginally, functioning.

Shoot, add me to the (long) list. 22 ER lariat, red ring o death this morning and Powertrain Malfunction notice in my app. Odd it did fully charge to 85%, as normal then stopped. Got the "charge fault" error 2 hrs later, then the "Powertrain Malfunction" 15 mins after that.

Power was dropped to 57 (seems like a trend). My dealer gave me a new Tahoe thru Enterprise (they didn't have any larger Fords available) and boy does that thing have no balls. Or maybe I'm spoiled.

First issue in 19 months and 19k mi's of ownership, hope it resolves quickly! I'm guessing the Tahoe sucks gas like no ones business...

Here we go again. Iā€™m back after 6 months since my last battery module replacement. Woke up this morning to drive 2 hours to a job site only for my truck to throw a wrench and limit power to 25%. Thank goodness I was able to find a coworker to cover for me. Truck has been perfect until one (well two now) morning you walk out to turn it on and all hell breaks loose. First replacement I believe was at 14,000 miles and now Iā€™m at 19,000 been a rough 5000 miles.

Dang I know. Sorry about that. I actually made a video but it was pretty long winded and I didnā€™t really like it, so I never posted. Iā€™ll be remedying that shortly.

On the bright side the dealer is well versed in this now and took care of me. They said if they get parts I should have it back in 1.5-2 weeks if it ends up being the module (99% sure it is). Gave me a power boost xlt for now.

I also just got the powertrain malfunction. Only 5500 miles on the truck and it previously had a module replaced (at ~3500 miles). 22 xlt ER. I love this truck more than anything I have ever driven but am pretty worried about reliability (coming from a lifetime of Toyotaā€™s)

This is totally unacceptable behavior from www.ford.com to treat its customers in this manner replacing one piece at a time when they are all from the same prone to failure date lot. Being the guinea pigs for www.ford.com is just ridiculous. Iā€™ve had one module replaced #9 and everyone asks when it failed why not and what about replacing the remaining 8 modules all at the same time. I feel they should take all 9 modules, the entire pack and all and send them to a www.ford.com laboratory or testing grounds and send any of us all new modules or even better the whole sealed pack of 9.
I was without my www.ford.com lightning from December 5th until February 14th getting just ā€œone of nine modules replaced..!! The www.ford.com modules are so problematic that the number 9 they sent me was in itself DOA and defective, strange indeed. It truly is difficult to have much faith in the other soon to fail modules that www.ford.com is neglecting to replace. Best of luck.
