I just noticed after looking at a old photo of my screen that the 360 cam view is smaller, I'm not taking about small like after the front sensor update because that was even smaller. I'm wondering if it's smaller after the 50/50 view forscan change. Notice the menu button to select which camera view you want. Now the camera view is always in view.

I think that happened after a Ford update, not ForScan. I played around with different views and the one shown in the second photo is the best one.

Not sure the FORScan 50/50 changed caused that. Look at my post 113. The icon style was the same before and after I added 50/50. The only difference was the new icon appeared. The 2024s have this style out of the box so it may have been a Sync update that changed this.

I am looking forw someone in KY or TN that would be interested in enabling BC 1.4 in my 2022 Lariat ER. I have had all the updates need to enable turning it on via Forscan, but don’t have it and don’t feel comfortable in doing it myself. I’m old and prone to forgetting things.

Feel free to DM, if you can help. Thanks.

First off, I have not done any of the updates except for glare free and BC 1.x and I was trying to use my cameras the other day and my bed camera (all cameras )did not work except when I was stopped??
I thought maybe it was one of the other updates from FDRS/OTA??
I have a to-do on post 1 to sort this out. I have cameras at speed (in motion) but I don't have any notes on how I enabled that. While stopped I get the 8 camera choices shown above in post 164 but when in motion the two front views and the 360 disappear. So in motion I just get bed, hitch, tailgate, and 50/50. You are seeing something different while in motion?

EDIT: did you try the one line mod for Remove "Full view not available" message on reverse camera screen while in motion?

Do you have a computer? Forgetting things isn't really the issue, inputting the wrong thing would be an issue. If you want to dip your toes into Forscan start with something simple like removing the "Full View Not Available" box in the backup cam.

There are a lot of YouTube videos about how to use Forscan including a Lightning specific video by one of this forum's members whose name escapes me.

Weatherman, the next time I'll visit Sonny Boy in Louisville I'll ping You about this. I have a perpetual FORScan license and am fairly handy with it (through four Ford cars in the family and several friends' cars).

It might be two months away though... maybe You'll resolve it by then.

When you say "played around with different views" do you mean going from my 1st photo with the menu button to open the camera views, or the 2nd photo with all the views displayed? I would like the bigger 360 view with all the camera selections showing.

No, I was looking at the available display options in Forscan and decided the stock configuration is best. I believe the original configuration is no longer available.

I am writing to see if someone could help me understand as I learn how to start reading Livinitup's spreadsheet linked from the original post.

I'm trying to use this mod that alexose posted to understand the spreadsheet:
BONUS: IPC quick boot. This disables the annoying (albeit inaudible) Ford advertisement that takes over your screen when the vehicle boots. IPC 720-07-01 xxxx xxxx 2xxx

If I'm looking at the correct tab, the spreadsheet shows the data below:

My original value was 4: M No • SS Yes • B No • DONOTUSETPMSPPD disabled
The modified value is 2: M No • SS No • B Yes • DONOTUSETPMSPPD disabled

I wondered why the modified value wouldn't be 0: M No • SS No • B No • DONOTUSETPMSPPD disabled thereby turning off the Splash Screen.

I was working on this earlier and misread the spreadsheet when I tried, and I inputted 1 instead of 0, but I didn't see any difference between 2 and 1, so I'm not sure what Background (B) and DO NOT USE (DONOTUSETPMSPPD) do.

Mexico (M) • Splash Screen (SS) • Background (B) • DO NOT USE (DONOTUSETPMSPPD)

If you just want to toggle SS from Yes to No, you would subtract 4 from your original value, assuming the original value was Yes. So if it was a 4, change to 0.

These are hex values which contain values from 0 to 15. In binary that is 1111. Each binary position toggles on/off a value. SS is the second 1 which has a decimal value of 4. Mexico is 8, B is 2 and DoNotUse is 1. 8+4+2+1=15.

Said another way without math and just looking at the table, note 4 has everything off/disabled except SS. So to get SS also off you need a 0.

I think I should have asked a question differently. I understand the hex to binary conversion and 1s enabling and 0s disabling.

What I’m trying to figure out is Why does it make sense to go from 4 to 2 for this mod instead of 4 to 0. If the goal is to disable SS, why also enable B?

I don’t know what B does, so maybe that’s relevant.

But the only thing I can think of is maybe the person that figured out this mod and posted it didn’t have an original value of 4. Maybe they had an original value of 6 and turned off SS by changing the value to 2.

This is why you need to reference the spreadsheet while making changes. Not all trucks have the same OEM configuration. What works for a '22 Platinum might not be the same as a '24 Flash.
