Hey everyone , so I go to plug in my truck last night and it doesn't charge . No fun to wake up to that . Charge station pro has a blue light , I've power cycled at the circuit breaker , factory reset it on the app , and the truck doesn't recognize it at all . I can Dc fast charge without issue. Can anyone take a pic of their connector? It looks like the DC pin that I don't even really need is messed up . Any other thoughts ?

Is the misalignment of the irrelevant DC pin preventing the entire CCS1 plug from fully seating on the AC & Comms pins??

It seems to sit flush either way as far as I can tell but I'll play with it in the light tomorrow with the circuit breaker off . But good point that this pin could mess up the alignment of the relevant pins.

Have you tried any other level 2 charger, or just a DCFC?

Great question- was the first thing I did this morning to eliminate any issues on the truck side. Was able to charge with no issue at AC Chargepoint level 2. The truck doesn't even realize it has the plug in it when I'm trying to charge at home . So I think I can now safely rule out the truck being the issue unless I'm missing something.

I doubt the DC pins are the cause. They are just along for the ride unless you are in generator mode.

Do the J1772 pins look like they are pushed in? Specifically CP, PD and ground pins.

In your photo it looks like the metallic female sockets on both sides (DC+ and DC-) have broken and/or been pushed back out of position in the plug handle. I have attached a photo of my FCSP charger plug for comparison. I don't know if the plug is a serviceable part, but if not, hopefully a replacement cable is available as a part.

That pin is clearly broken. Maybe it's part of the safety loop and the fact it's not making a connection is telling either the truck or the charger not to charge.

Aren't these warranted?

Uh Oh I'm about to get my 80-amp Ford charge station installed... following this.
Congratulations on your purchase!

People come here to complain about their broken trucks. An extremely small number of trucks break but a surprisingly large number of owners whose trucks break talk about it here. This doesn't mean your truck will break. What it does mean is this is the place to come if your truck breaks.

Of course... got it. Thanks.

I have my truck since early July 2024... following this thread because I just got my free FCSP wall box and am about to get it installed for the 80-amp TOU charging benefit, which will work very well with my ER battery and my schedule.

I didn't fully realize when I bought the XLT ER just how large this battery is... with my 8-hour TOU low cost charging setup at home, those 8 hours weren't enough to refill the ER battery with the 40-amp wallbox I now have.

Nonetheless, if there turn out to be long-term quality problems with the FCSP I want to know now before I pay for the 3-gauge installation and circuit panel work.

Comparing your pic to his, it looks like all of his AC pins are missing. That whole handle is no good and needs to be replaced.

Oh wow! I just looked again and noticed that on the OP's photo! That's obviously not a usual thing to happen... someone likely had forced something while using the handle. May also be a weak design.
