The wireless phone charging pad has a fan underneath that automatically turns on and off when you place or remove a phone from the pad respectively.

happily retired!
Interesting question, I have the Apple series 9 watch with paak, iPad with paak and iPhone with paak . I turned off the iPad and iPhone then just to be sure, put them both in a metal file cabinet. The Apple Watch paak still unlocked my mustang mach-e and the lightning! There is also a version that has its own cell phone connection, mine does not.

Here's a good feature: our trucks cool the motors and battery more aggressively when set to Tow/Haul mode. Doesn't matter if you have tow package or not.
Sport mode also does this. I tested both modes while it was still over 100F. I prefer tow/haul cuz it doesn't change the regen feel.

More of an observation or quirk rather than a feature:

The front driver and passenger powered windows roll down and up at a much faster rate than the rear driver-passenger windows.

Is this common across all F150s and generations or unique to Lightning? Is this by design or is it reflective of Farley's comments about challenges related to supplier integration resulting in different motor controller operations?

Auto high beams don't turn on until 33 MPH. Not a feature, but something that pissed me off until I figured it out.
After completing all of the recalls and CSP's my auto high beams come on at about 21 MPH. Was over 30 MPH prior.

I think it is the same on all vehicles. My previous vehicle was an Expedition EL and it was the same. Maybe so kids can get their fingers out of the way if they are rolling it up??

The cool feature I use sometimes when grocery shopping is using the keypad to unlock truck and open frunk simultaneously. Comes in pretty useful when your hands are full.
I think I read or heard that they have deleted the keypad as a factory option on the 2025s?
This is something that I have always loved about my Ford vehicles. I could always lock my keys inside prior to the new ones being able to push start so I did not have to carry them around with me!

I’m sure you can add this as an add on.

This likely related to the front window motors with One Button touch up/down.
The rear windows do not have that.

You can change the door code.
Just to clarify, you cannot change the factory door code. You can create, change, and delete new codes, but the factory code is permanent.

This isn't necessarily a good feature (more like a quirk), but on XLT and Pro trims the frunk can't be opened or closed via the button on the frunk if the truck is locked even partly.
  • Locked? No frunk button operation
  • Driver side open but other doors locked? See above.
  • Unlocked? Frunk button opens & closes the frunk.
The frunk will stop at part way positions if you push the dash button while its moving.

Believe it will be a dealer installed accesory
I believe that is correct. I just wonder if (assume) it is wireless. Maybe I am just old-school, but I like the wired ones.

Good question. Could be wireless, I suppose. But I was thinking that Ford would have it prewired and then the dealership would install the unit and simply make the connection to the pre-existing wiring. IDK.
