In the past 16 months my average has been 2.4 mi/kWh which is exactly what Ford published. But I agree that EPA range number should be at highway speed.

Yesterday I took a 122.5 Mile trip. At the end of the trip, dash said 2.4 mi/kWh but my energy consumption for the trip was 48.59 kWh which translates to 2.52 mi/kWh. All data comes from truck so I am wondering what is the most accurate (not necessarily conservative) way of looking at it for trip planning.

p.s. Battery temp range was 70F-80F

It's pretty simple for me. I live in Canada. I drove 300km (about 185mi) of highway miles Saturday and 300km Sunday starting each day at 85% SOC. I charged overnight so no explicit charge stops. It cost less than $1/100km for the electricity (ULO in Ontario). When you move to EV, there are adjustments. If you can't adjust due to your personal circumstances, then today's EVs may not be for you.
For me - I will never go back. Did I mention less than $1/100km? (Thats about $1.17USD/100mi)
Sry but 100km it s 62 miles... and at 0.11 $ by kw whit your calcul you are able to drive 100km whit 10kw ... wow ... nearly impossible but wow.

My supposed unintelligible complain equal probably your bad capacity to read a graphic.

Why you're so upset. I don't even talk about me. It's an independent study made whit 86 differents pickups, in 86 differents places whit 86 differents drivers.

I know that the EPA have the same test for all EV but you could probably admit that's the first EV truck tested and maybe they have a possibility that the protocol used doesn't work?

Maybe you work for Ford to be so balistique,
As I see there's many peoples whit biais here.
It s a forum for all kind of stock about lightning?
Or just the good things. And yes it s possible a lemon, even whit an EV

It isn't 100km for 10Kwh - more like 32kwh this past weekend. We have crazy low overnight electric prices. $0.028 CAD/KWh if you are on the Ultra Low Overnight TOU plan in Ontario. Crazy cheap to charge the EVs.

I don't understand the anger when people can't get the window sticker.

Did all of you all always get the window sticker on your gas vehicles? I've owned 27 vehicles and I tend to drive like I'm trying to save money.

I have not always been able to hit my EPA window sticker on gas cars either.

Now that the weather is warming up, I am regularly getting better than the 2.4 average on the window sticker for the Lightning.

The window sticker is a mixture of city and hwy rating.

You notice no one ever post compliants that they're getting 380+ miles of city range driving this thing?

380 miles / 131 kWh = 2.9 miles / kWh

I just got back from a 25 mile drive and I got 3.0 mi/kwh. Yet my GoM said I only had 240 miles of range at 80%! Guess it's trash, now. Who's got Ford's number?

I think people forget these are estimates! The bottom of that section specifically states actual results may very for many reasons, including driving conditions how you drive and maintain your vehicle.… even the fuel savings part of it compares it at $.14 a kilowatt hour to the average vehicle which gets 28 miles to the gallon for your five year fuel savings I don’t know that there is any truck that gets 28 miles to the gallon unless you have 100 mile an hour tailwind and maybe a sail. If you DC fast charge most of the time I would guess you are more than double that at a minimum. My current rate is $.11 a kilowatt hour which is the highest I’ve had in the last few years. I am about to put in solar so I will be around $.04-$.05 a kilowatt hour the next 20 years and my system should last much longer than that. I have only had my lighting lariat extended range for a month and a half and my expedition EL averages 17 miles per gallon so for me the math is pretty simple. The lighting is an amazing vehicle that I love!! I cannot imagine going back to ICE again. And yes, I purchased my vehicle in Maryland and drove it back to my home in Texas so I’ve seen the lower performance driving 70 to 90 miles an hour versus what I drive every day mostly around town.

This whole discussion reminded me of an old ice joke...
I don't care about gas prices, I only fill up for $20 at a time anyways.

I don't care what my range is, I just plug it in when I need to recharge.

It sucks for those who didn't do much homework and banked on getting a vehicle with 340miles of range, on the highway, in the middle of winter, and have a genuine need for that range. But I don't think it's fair to blame everyone else for your own lack of research, especially if you were in that position to begin with.
