Unfortunately, mine is outside and in the path of the wind driven rain and snow.After looking at mine I'm saying use force, like a lot of force!
If it were me I'd try pushing it in first. Use your body weight, use a soft mallet on the bottom while using your body weight.
Next, pull! Back and forth, side to side. Use the mallet again.
I think it will come out. In my opinion the next most likely thing to happen is the plastic piece that holds it in breaks. I don't think that's a major issue though because you can just loop it over the charger and let it hang. That's what I do most of the time anyway.
