I haven't either, but unless you can force an update via FRDS, the exact timing could be up in the ether.

Thanks for the info @Mike G ! I'm glad to know I was wrong, at least partially. I still wonder how much it was draining for Ford to feel the need for the upcoming update. Do OBDII adapters pull power if left plugged in while the truck is off?
I think it depends on the adapter itself and whether it's designed to stay active all the time or whether it's only active when the vehicle is turned on. I can tell you my MX+ lights up whenever it's inserted whether the vehicle is on or off. So the only way to not draw energy is to unplug it.

Well some of you folks should ping your service advisors to see if this PowerUp has even been created as a package and queued up for delivery yet. I see updates show up in FDRS sometimes weeks in advance of the reports of OTAs happening for those same updates.

Another example...there are a bunch of '23 model Mach-Es that all have the same available updates in their lists when I check FDRS, and one of those updates is a GWM (gateway) update, which normally is one of the quickest things they send out as an OTA. But so far...none of the '23 model MMEs I've seen have this in their queue for download becuse the package hasn't been created and pushed out yet. Yet this is the *same* GWM update revision that other 21 and 22 MMEs have already gotten as an OTA. So they obviously don't work off all model years backlogs at the same time.

I haven't seen anything pop up in FDRS for my truck.

Video showing the new User Interface upgrade and Mr. Farney's response has been sent to my service advisor at the dealer and the Ford Social Media Team.
Only response was from the Ford Special Media Contact saying
"Thanks for sharing. XXX! Have a great day."

A little off topic but also involves an OTA update. I received an OTA update on June 8th (Ford Power-Up 4.2.3.1). It occurred automatically without error and I was alerted via the app upon its completion. I was not at home when the OTA occurred. Its worth noting that Tesla recommends: To ensure the fastest and most reliable delivery of software updates, connect your vehicle to Wi-Fi.

Today I received a troubling alert (Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power) via the app and truck after pressing the start button. I shut the truck off and then on to find the alert gone. I drove the truck and everything was normal. I called the dealership and they said the truck had 25 or so faults and corrected itself when the truck restarted. They said the truck apparently "freaked out" and they can't say one particular thing was to blame. I know Ford is new to this OTA game and I am wondering if there is a correlation? FWIW: I did have modem issues at delivery for 2 months (no app connection) that was later fixed via an OTA.

Truck has 2500 miles

had the same thing happen to me when I installed 4.2.4. As soon as It was installed I got the same errors as you. its not caused by the update per-se, you had the code the whole time. Reference customer satisfaction 23H01. You will probably be getting a new battery module. Sorry to give you bad news. Mine was out of service for almost 4 weeks waiting on an appointment, parts, and a technician.

My truck freaked out with a earlier update, don't recall the version upgrade but it was prior to the UI update. Got several errors and warnings, I shut it off and let it sit unplugged overnight. Haven't had an issue since, that was about 3 months ago and ~5k miles. No email or phone call from Ford so I don't think my truck is part of the 23H01.

My truck attempted to update a few times but unsuccessful after a few attempts. I’ll keep trying.

The mentioned errors after updates is why I have chosen to NOT to automatic updates.
I was notified of 4.2.3.1 while out and about.
I did not initiate until I got home.
No reason to risk issues while out driving around.

I just got this update (installed successfully), but the description was quite different:

We’ve been busy. Take a look at what we’ve done.
Displayed range has been adjusted to reflect what is possible with optimal driving practices

Does this mean the guess-o-meter is going to be even worse and show crazy ranges? Optimal driving practices would be 20mph on a smooth flat surface with all climate control turn off....

What's really needed is user selectable GOM assumptions:
  • Hypermiler mode
  • Normal mode
  • Driving like I'm on a racetrack mode

Heck, I will just take local and highway modes.
