Hi All,
Been liking the BlueCruise feature and the new v1.4 is an improvement. But still at $500 a year is it something worth renewing to you? Many road sections are not yet enabled for it, I’m finding it hard to justify. Perhaps on a long road trip but how many times a year would that happen. Would be nice to do ala carte , pay for the months you really need it then cancel. Anyway wondering if other members think the same way.

No - As much as I love Tesla's FSD and previous versions, I wouldn't pay their price either.

Maybe $10/month $100 year, but truly no. Their support, time to market with releases and fixes aren't worth it.

I am a real fan of BC, but based on how Ford has failed to deliver on their promise to deliver improvements nearly two years ago I will not be investing it in the future.

Depends on the cost at the time to renew. Currently, I think it's in the $2500 (lifetime) or $400 (annual) range.

Not a chance in a hell.

I only got a 3-month trial when I got my truck (should have negotiated for more) and after trying to live with the regular cruise control I'm considering going back to Blue Cruise - either on a monthly basis when needed or buy the license outright and keep it with the vehicle permanently.

Regular cruise control nags too much to be useful especially when I usually keep a hand on the wheel at all times. For reference, Tesla Autopilot didn't nag as much as Blue Cruise does.

Blue Cruise is great if you are doing long distances on Interstates, but for typical road driving it’s not useful. $500 annual fee is too pricy for occasional needs.

Ford isn't doing themselves any favors when it comes to convincing people to splurge. Slow as molasses updates that only bring moderate improvements and, as noted, it's only usable on controlled access divided highways so you're pretty much limited to interstates. Besides the Lightning isn't exactly known as being a road trip beast so it's going to be a hard sell for most.

I’ll only differ on the Road Trip Beast point. I find it awesome for road trips. I’ve done 3 - 3000+ mile road trips already and love the truck.

I've got my 3 free years with my 2023 Lariat ER and coming up to 1 year left.
I am planning to re-up at the end of the free period. I do a lot of long distance driving that makes it worthwhile.

That said, if Ford is listening, I would really like to see the BC 1.4 update soon. 😉

I love the ride and room but range and charging are the big negatives. It's basically at the bottom of Out Of Specs's 10% challenge (distance available after 15min of charging) and finished several hours behind the Silverado, Cybertruck and R1T in a cross country trip. Then again most aren't going 2300 miles+ in one go and being able to charge overnight at hotels is a benefit but the average person isn't going to like sitting 30-45min every 100-150 miles or so. I'm generally not in a hurry though and have an ICE Ram 1500 if I am. Still debating on taking the Lightning from Wilmington, NC to SE Florida in the Spring. Would be roughly 7 stops and 3 hrs of charging for 770 miles where the Ram could make it in 2 stops (along with several bathroom breaks knowing my crew). Will likely depend on how the weather is and if I take the boat.

I hear ya, I did find the NACS adaptor make a huge difference in my charging stops. ABRP had me only charging for 20 min or so to stay in the sweet spot of the charging curve, and move on to the next Supercharger 120-140 miles up the road, only to do it again. Granted, in my younger years I would not be so patient, but I now appreciate a walk around or a stroll thru BUC-EEs for 20 min

Not at the current price point. I don't road trip enough to justify it and my wife hates it.

Lol I have it disabled, along with the other nonsense under the cruise control. So obviously I won't be subscribing (not even sure when/if mine is still subscribed or not)
