I do plan to call Ford tomorrow to find out what they mean by software repair vs. affected vehicles.
So Friday 9/20/24 I called the Ford Customer Relationship Center (CRC) as instructed on the 24B56 notice to owners if they had any questions or concerns.

For starters, the call system instructs the caller to input the CSP number on the letter to route the call. Bad start as the phone system replies, "We don't recognize that number." So, I chose the routing option that I am having trouble with the dealer.

The Ford rep who took my call was clueless on what I was calling about. He asked if he could research the matter for three to five minutes. When he got back on the line, the only advice he could offer me was to take my vehicle to the dealer. The dealer would know what to do (but I had told him my problem was I thought the dealer was misinterpreting Ford's CSP 24B56 instructions).

Then at the conclusion of our call, it seemed the Ford rep deliberately avoided hanging up on the call as a rep is supposed to do to trigger a customer satisfaction survey if the customer stays on the line...

@Ford Motor Company, what's a better number than the CRC's (1-866-436-7332) to call to get knowledgeable guidance from Ford relative to a dealer who claims that only vehicles showing a front parking sensor defect, not all the vehicles in the build date range, are covered by the CSP software update policy?

Just more "Process Management" failures, I would EXPECT the call center triage system to be updated with the code and CRC specialists able to cogently answer questions about this matter, BEFORE issuing paper or app alerts.

Either I don't understand the issue at hand, or I'm viewing it differently.

All F-150s in that build date range are potentially affected.

So applying an available IPMA update (if there is one in your FDRS list) would fulfill that CSP and address the sensor issue as far as they are concerned. When you show up, you tell the service advisor you have an occasional front sensor warning that shows up on your IPC when you press the brake pedal coming to a stop at a stop sign with no vehicles in front of you...but that this doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes. You want this IPMA update in any case. There is no downside to getting this update applied.

You can call the Electric Vehicle Team 800-392-3673 or 866-631-3788 x79969 for any info on any topic about your Ford EV and they should be able to help.

I got this letter as well! Pretty cool given I'm 2nd owner.

May have missed it but for those that have made changes in FORSCAN to the IPMA is there anything I should do before taking it in for the update?

Nope...zero impact. Completely oblivious.
More worried about it wiping out my changes or values being "off", for lack of a better word.

Ultimately if the dealer will update my IPMA I'm in, I'm getting no updates and I think the truck hasn't updated anything since built (mid 23).

Thanks for the advice. Before I go back to my dealer (Red McCombs Ford, in SA, TX), I will ensure the EV Service head agrees that CSP 24B56 applies to all vehicles in the build date range. And I'm also going to wait for cooler weather. I arrived at 7 AM on 9/19 for CSP 23B70 (I'd already had the software update for that checked earlier in the year). According to the CSP 23B70 tech bulletin that you posted, Mike, the BMS replacement takes 0.3 hours. I was at the dealer until 2 PM, and my vehicle was an oven when I got it back (high of 96F that day). Given the wait time for a 0.3-hour job, I expect them to have my truck sitting in a lot for a day or two for the right time to do a 2 hr 40 min IPMA update. Or, since I have a Mongoose cable and a Clore PL6100, I might give FDRS a shot. I'm such a complete newbie to FDRS that I'm not sure doing an IPMA update is the way to get rolling on that. 😀

BTW, using the FordPass app, I could tell minute-by-minute where my vehicle was at the very big dealership. Most of the day, it was sitting out in the back lot.

Strange the CSP isn't showing online or in the app so far - in the past I'd get it online/in the app well before the USPS mailing - no mailing either so far.
It showed up on my FordPass app a while ago and I got a letter in the mail a few weeks later dated September 2024 as well. I had already done the IPMA update with FDRS so I called the dealer to make an appointment last week or the week before and mentioned that I needed the BMS update done while it was in the shop could not get a loaner until October 8th. Supposedly they will do all updates while it is in there, fingers crossed.🤞🏼

I think it killed my 12v battery too! I just had the update done on Monday and all day today, after every drive, I get the shutting off to save power message and I can’t use my FordPass app. I’ll give it a few days of driving before I bring it back to the dealer.
Same issue for me today. Posted more details in this reply to another thread.

What's your 12V status now that it's been almost a week?

Still the same, all the same symptoms you listed on your thread too. I need to make an appointment to take it back to the dealer to check it out. My commute is 100+ miles round trip and that’s made no difference.
