I'm sure Ford is making it harder on themselves too by doing stupid things like encrypting the traffic across the busses. Yeah - I'm about safety but it's not like anyone is tapping into a Ford truck. So Ford - leave the stupid BS behind (all the encrypting did was cut off people trying to make 3rd party products for your owners) and focus on delivering some add on value. Its software, most high schoolers and college kids could likely deliver it for you.
I believe encryption is an important security feature to prevent attacks like this: Thieves are now stealing cars via a headlight 'CAN injection'

Obviously their software has lots of room for improvement... but I do hope they will continue to improve, and back port features to earlier model years when possible. The problem is there's not much financial incentive to do so. It's mostly to generate goodwill.

Hopefully the Ford AI was off over the weekend and will reply on Monday morning that of course older trucks will get the update. I really really really hope the locking thing is going to the older trucks and not 2025 only (other stuff seems software only, not sure on the locking part). Thankfully most DC chargers are in decent locations, but with the adapters at Tesla locations, it would be nice to have peace in mind that it will be locked when walking away.

Can we get a one time departure feature instead of having to go back and delete the times that you aren't departing after setting the time once?
Absolutely! This should have been in there 2 years ago. We don’t always plan our lives out weeks in advance, and we don’t leave for work at the same time every day. I’d like to be able to initiate the battery preheat the same way I do the vehicle temperature remotely

I think if one presses Start on FordPass, the truck will start charging to 100% (unless you are already there) and that (if plugged in only?) would warm up the HV battery system, besides getting the cabin climate conditioning going as well if selected. But maybe folks do not want to climb their charge any higher, so that would not work @Ford Motor Company .

In a 15 minute period the SOC will usually increase by ~1 to 2 % depending on amperage, my experiences with an 80 amp FCSP.

Also a good reason for those who chose the 100% life to set max at 95% that way there is enough head room for the final 1 or 2 % while also warming the battery and cabin. with the {Start Charge} & {Start Climate}
