HAHA I think I will, but it will have to wait till tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Thank you!
So pretty anti-climactic at the dealer. They just said ok and gave me my key back. The fix did work though, so thank you!!

Dealer was nice enough to update the BCM today while replacing the battery sensor and now WAL is working. One oddity is that I have the Power running boards and they retract after closing the door but when the WAL activates, the running boards deploy, truck locks and then running boards retract 30 sec or so later.

Apologies to sound silly, can you point out the exact value that needs to be changed to an 8?

for ID 706-12-01 it shows xxxx x8xx xx--
this means you would change the 2nd set, 2nd digit to an 8 as seen in the xxxx x8xx xx--

Depending on if they were dealer installed aftermarket or OEM factory boards, I can only attest to the aftermarket boards. They are wired to the lock/unlock wire and or door switch for the trigger to present or stow themselves. So most likely the trigger is sent from WAL, and they timeout to retract after 30 seconds

I have the oem steps. Found out that the behavior varies depending on which door I open. If I open and close the driver's door, steps retract, mirrors fold and truck locks all in about 8 seconds or before I can even walk around the front of the truck. If I open and close the passenger door, the steps retract at about 8 seconds but it's another 10-12 before the steps redeploy, mirrors fold and truck locks. Then it's an additional delay until the steps retract again.

OEM could be dealer or factory installed. Not sure if there is coding in Forscan you can modify to change this.

I believe in your touchscreen settings you can adjust the time the running boards stay deployed. It can be done with FORScan, but I'd really have to dig in to see how you do it. I was looking into this for someone the other day and it's a lot to go through:

On the DSM tab, look from 744-42-01 through 744-46-08.

yeah there's an extended timer (5min) that I have it set to now. Standard is 25sec. I was previously just using PAAK but noticed that if I'm just using the fob, the truck does the same delayed lock when I close the driver's door. Sure it's probably programmable somewhere but the extended timer prevents the steps from deploying unnecessarily which is what I was looking for.

I have a GVMS block on my Lightning's APIM this morning. I wasn't in any danger of having to do an APIM update anyway. And on my '23 MME GT, I have a GVMS block that showed up on both the APIM and the TCU as well. Again, there weren't any updates pending for either of those modules. And both vehicles are running the latest APIM (Sync) 1270 flavors without any issues. So...I don't know what they're up to 🤷‍♂️

And now today, on a Sunday (🤷‍♂️), I've got a subset of the powertrain updates that showed up overnight.

They weren't there when I discovered I had a GVMS warning on my APIM yesterday.

Of course, the ACM and RFA are still with us....

EDIT: Updates done. PCM, SOBDMC, and BECM in that order (scripted). From 0826 to 0833. So not long. Minor weirdness when the BECM started...it immediately said it had failed, and did I want to retry? I said yes and it went right through. No issues beyond that.

I had picked up a license for the weekend as I thought the new IPMA/PSCM updates would be up but for the 24 Flash all I had showing was a trailer module so did that anyway and back to fully updated. Nothing popped up on sun morning either like it did for Mike

I've been thinking about doing this. I have a Naviks HDMI interface module running through my APIM which tends to get locked up in a funky state every now and then and the only way to kick its ass back into gear is disconnecting the battery.

I know there are plenty of ways to do this, but what did you to yours?
How do you like the naviks? I just looked them up and holy shit those are a little spendy!

Props to @rugedraw on his choice of battery disconnects. I bought one and it's far easier to configure it so that you don't have to stretch the negative cabling around to fit the disconnect. The terminal posts are right next to each other.

This thing is perfect, and the remotes had batteries in them and worked as soon as the power was connected to the cutoff circuit. Completely brilliant.

Gonna get one for the Mach-E because the LVB location on the car is a lot harder to get to, and it's possible you wouldn't be able to open the frunk to disconnect the LVB on the MME anyway. So this is definitely going to be the next small thing on the car's todo list.

Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Standby current draw is .004A. So I don't expect any significant drain.

Wonder if there is some issue with the latest APIM update and they want to stop distribution? That was the karaoke one, right?
