Yes, it's been in my ER 22 Lariat since the start. You need to hit the 7/8 within 5 seconds. This is not directly related but something I didn't know until recently: if you want to open the frunk and you don't have your fob on you can use your entry keypad by entering your unlock code then press the 7/8 button and your frunk will open. This is very handy.
Is that why sometimes I can open the frunk and it won’t close?Would sure be great if it would let you close the frunk with the button even if the doors are locked
Leaving the frunk open for an extended length of time will always require you to manually close it.I found a reason today to look forward to the frunk update - a new glitch I've never experienced before. I keep my truck in a garage. I regularly trickle charge the LVB. And until this past week, I've been disconnecting the wires, closing the frunk each day, and reopening it the next.
I thought, "Why the heck am I doing this?! I'll just leave the frunk open all the days I don't drive the truck." So, I've started the truck plugged in or not, locked, and unlocked the doors over several days with the frunk up the whole time. I even got the karaoke update while the truck was parked in the garage, just as I pulled into the garage and shut off the engine some days ago; it was still downloading.
Today, I removed all the wires and tried to close the frunk. Won't work via FordPass with the truck off or on or via the frunk button on the truck dash to the left of the steering wheel with the truck turned on (I didn't try the button on the frunk hood). After gently manually pushing the hood shut and letting the frunk lock itself, things were back to normal.
I think I was able to open and close the frunk via FordPass quite a few times after getting the karaoke update, so I suspect something else is responsible for my "frunk won't close" glitch.
